				Description

We are seeking a Senior R&D Engineer to join our team in the development of advanced mathematical models for reservoir simulation in the oil and gas industry. This role focuses on transitioning simulation software to GPU hardware, optimizing performance, and leveraging modern approaches in high-performance computing (HPC). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in reservoir simulation or computational fluid dynamics, and GPU development, as well as experience working in collaborative, distributed teams.
In this role, you will also contribute to the development and optimization of physical models for complex systems. Your expertise in GPU acceleration, particularly in CUDA Fortran, will be critical for enhancing the performance of reservoir simulation software. Additionally, your experience in mathematical modelling, thermochemical effects, and algorithm development will help drive innovation in our projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and optimizing reservoir simulation software, including GPU acceleration for linear solvers.
- Design and implement physical models for complex systems.
- Transition existing simulation software to GPU hardware using CUDA and other HPC tools.
- Collaborate with a distributed team across multiple time zones to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Contribute to the development of mathematical models and algorithms for reservoir simulation applications.
Key Qualifications:- PhD degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Physics, Applied Physics, or a related field. A Master's degree may be considered in exceptional cases.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in reservoir simulation, CFD, or similar domains.
- Strong expertise in parallel algorithms, GPU development, and high-performance computing (HPC).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Fortran, C++, and CUDA; experience with Python and scientific libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas) is a plus.
- Solid understanding of mathematical modelling, physical processes, and algorithm development.
- Experience with debugging, Linux environments, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with experience working in distributed teams.
- Publications or contributions to scientific research are a plus.
If you are passionate about cutting-edge research and development in the energy sector and have the required expertise, we encourage you to apply!
